Kuwait, April 2025 – Taiba Hospital proudly recognizes Dr. Asmaa Al-Kandari, Consultant of Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Endoscopy, for her distinguished participation at ESGE Days 2025, one of the leading international conferences for gastrointestinal endoscopy, held in Barcelona, Spain. Representing Kuwait among a distinguished assembly of global experts, Dr. Al-Kandari contributed significantly to the scientific program through a series of chaired sessions, oral presentations, and research contributions.
During the conference, Dr. Al-Kandari chaired multiple scientific sessions, leading discussions on advancing techniques in diagnosing and treating digestive diseases. She delivered a featured oral presentation focused on improving clinician understanding of digestive health needs among minority communities, highlighting the importance of inclusivity and patient-centered care in gastroenterology. She also shared a video session on complex case management in variceal bleeding, reflecting her practical expertise in addressing critical endoscopic challenges.
Dr. Al-Kandari further contributed to the conference’s academic dialogue by co-authoring and presenting research papers on innovative approaches to gastrointestinal diagnostics and therapies. Her research addressed cutting-edge topics such as the evolution of artificial intelligence-assisted characterization of colorectal lesions, as well as the role of Purastat in reducing post-operative pain and recovery time in POEM (Peroral Endoscopic Myotomy) procedures. She also participated in presenting findings from a multi-center European study on the long-term outcomes of endoscopic submucosal dissection for early esophageal neoplasia.
